Seguso in the swim thanks to gene pool

One of the best things about the Luxilon Cup is its proximity to lots of quality tennis journalists who may be able to find time to write about one or two of the juniors participating. This story about Holden Seguso, is an interesting glimpse into the lives of one tennis-centered family. Seguso was also featured as the Junior Spotlight of the Week on the redesigned usta.com website.

The Luxilon Cup winners were Sanja Ancic, who had not played a junior event in over a year and Pavel Chekhov, who has been a regular on the junior circuit and was a semifinalist in the Australia Junior Open. Chekhov is probably on his way across the country now, as he's in the field at the Grade 1 International Spring event in Carson. He lost in the finals to Sam Querrey there last year.

Ancic will go back to the WTA, while the only U.S. Luxilon finalist--Lauren Albanese is a late scratch, no doubt due to all the tennis she played this past week. Albanese is still scheduled to compete at the Easter Bowl. The complete competitor list for the Palm Springs ITF tournament is available here.
