My Wimbledon Recap; Lee Wins Boys 12s Clay Court Title, Ayrault and Newman Meet in Girls 12s Final; Quinn, Rivera, Sieg Reach Semis at Lakewood $15Ks; Shelton Advances at Rome Challenger

My Wimbledon Junior Championships recap for the Tennis Recruiting Network was posted today, with details of all the American success, including titles for Liv Hovde and Alex Michelsen and Sebastian Gorzny and an appearance in the final for Michael Zheng. Michelsen and Zheng also both appear in this behind-the-scenes video of the junior grass events that the ITF produced featuring Hong Kong's Coleman Wong. As Wong's doubles partner, Zheng even has a speaking role.

The first 2022 USTA Clay Court singles champion was crowned today at the Boys 12s in Lake Nona, with No. 3 seed Jordan Lee defeating No. 4 seed Vihaan Reddy 6-1, 6-3. Lee was a semifinalist last year in the same event, losing to champion Jack Secord, who is through to the semifinals of the Boys 14s in Dothan Alabama.

The finals are set for the Girls 12s in Boca Raton, with No. 7 seed Hannah Ayrault facing No. 2 seed Welles Newman. Ayrault defeated unseeded Ciara Sergi 6-1, 6-2 in today's semifinals, with Newman downing No. 16 seed Maggie Sohns 6-4, 6-1. The girls doubles champions are top seeds Shaya Jovanovic and Daniela Navarro, who beat No. 5 seeds Madeleine Bridges and Reiley Rhodes 7-5, 6-2.

Teenagers continue to have success at the $15,000 SoCal Pro Circuit tournaments this week in Lakewood California. In the men's event, 18-year-old qualifier Hudson Rivera defeated No. 7 seed Tsung-Hao Huang of Taiwan 7-6(8), 6-2 to reach his first Pro Circuit semifinal. The recently crowned Southern California boys 18s sectional champion will play No. 4 seed Nathan Ponwith(Arizona State) on Saturday. Georgia's redshirt freshman Ethan Quinn, the No. 5 seed, defeated 17-year-old Kyle Kang 6-3, 6-4 and will face No. 3 seed Jaimee Floyd Angele of France in the other semifinal.

At the women's event at Lakewood, incoming USC freshman Madison Sieg, the No. 2 seed, defeated USC rising senior Eryn Cayetano, who has been playing at No. 1 or No. 2 in the lineup the past two years, 6-1, 6-4.  The 19-year-old Sieg will face another USC teammate, No. 5 seed Snow Han, in the semifinals. Han defeated Auburn's Carolyn Ansari 7-5, 6-4.

Qualifier Ben Shelton is the last American remaining in singles at the ATP Challenger 80 in Rome Georgia after the completion of the quarterfinals today.  The 19-year-old, a rising junior at the University of Florida, advanced to his second Challenger semifinal since winning the NCAA singles title in May, defeating Aleks Kovacevic(Illinois) 7-6(2), 7-5.  Shelton will face unseeded Yasutaka Uchiyama of Japan, who beat top seed Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-1. The bottom half semifinal features unseeded Yibing Wu of China, who beat No. 2 seed JJ Wolf 6-4, 6-1, and No. 4 seed Juan Pablo Ficovich of Argentina, who defeated No. 7 seed Bjorn Fratangelo 6-4, 7-6(5).
