Watching the coverage the past 2 days its amazing how far the boy's game is from the girl's. The boys have so much more variety and intensity. And the age they are now, 15-16, is before the real divergence of strength and speed that happens in the later teens. so its not really speed and strength, its early competition focus.
These girls are competing so early and so often, putting wins ahead of development. Seriously, the level of the US girls is light years behind the boys. No variety, no power, and little intensity of the footwork from either Montgomery or Ma.
This pains me to say as a parent of tennis playing girls but its sad how boring the girl's games are compared to the boys. There is no excuse for that.
