Happy New Year! December Aces; USTA Winter Nationals Finals Set

photo via unsplash.com

If you took a break from tennis during the month of December , a look at my Aces column for the Tennis Recruiting Network will help you catch up in a hurry.  Fourteen different players won major junior titles last month in Florida, and there's a good chance you'll continue to read about them in 2016.

I've also cleared out the 2015 Honor Roll, which is a separate post now below this one, to make way for the 2016 American champions of USTA Level 1 events or ITF Grade 1 and higher events. It's a great way to review the top junior performances by Americans last year. I also include Pro Circuit titles and collegiate titles if an 18-and-under player wins one. The USTA Winter National Champions will be the first to go up in 2016, and Saturday's finals are now set:

Boys 18s:
William Genesen(1) v. Austen Huang(8)

Girls 18s:
Jessica Failla(9) v. Alyvia Jones(12)

Boys 16s:
Carson Haskins(1) v. Christian Alshon(6)

Girls 16s:
Sara Choy(1) v. Hannah Zhao(2)

Boys 14s:
Stefan Leustian(1) v. Ryder Jackson(10)

Girls 14s:
Mae Fmar Canete(3) v. Gabriella Price(4)

Boys 12s:
Samuel Landau(1) v. Nishesh Basavareddy(3)

The full draws are available for the 16s and 18s here, and the 12s and 14s here.
