Chifchieva and McKenna to Decide All-American; Study Says Sweating Less Means More Exercise-Induced Asthma
An interesting study was published recently about the relationship between sweating and exercise-induced asthma. The correlation that was discovered doesn't provide any solution to the problem, but I guess there is some value in understanding the connection. U.S. News and World Report provided this account of the study last month.
Unseeded Fani Chifchieva of Auburn will face unseeded Kelcy McKenna of Arizona State Sunday in the final of the ITA Riviera All-American. Chifchieva defeated No. 7 seed Marina Coussou of Cal-Berkley 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. See the Auburn athletic website for details of that victory. McKenna fought back to take out No. 6 seed Maria Mosolova of Northwestern 0-6, 7-5, 7-6. For more coverage, see the Arizona State website.
In the doubles final, qualifiers Amanda McDowell and Irina Falconi of Georgia Tech will meet 2008 NCAA semifinalists Renata Kucerkova and Anastasia Petukhova of Fresno State. Neither team is seeded, assuring that both singles and doubles titles will go to unseeed players. The Georgia Tech website has the story.

Nice to see that Jack Sock was given a wild card into the Pan American ITF. That is a strong tournament and I anticipate that Sock will do well. He should team up with Mccall for doubles. That could be a great team.
