Happy Thanksgiving! Six Americans Advance to Third Round at ITF J500 in Merida

It's a quiet time in the tennis world, especially here in the United States, and I'll be taking tomorrow off for the Thanksgiving holiday. This lull is the perfect time to thank my sponsors at the Junior Tennis Champions Center, the Southern California Tennis Association Foundation and the John McEnroe Tennis Academy for their continued support of my coverage of junior and college tennis. And thank you for reading my work, both here at Zootennis.com and at the Tennis Recruiting Network; my partnership with TRN has played a huge part in sustaining this site over the past two decades, and I know how fortunate I am to be able to grow with them as they have continued to elevate the profiles of both junior and college tennis.
I'll be back on Friday, from Florida, where qualifying has begun for the 12s, 14s and 16s divisions at the IMG Academy International Championships, formerly known as the Eddie Herr, in Bradenton. The ITF J300 qualifying will begin on Saturday, November 29th.
The ITF J500 in Merida Mexico will complete its second round matches late tonight, with the quarterfinalists to be determined Thursday.
Six Americans--four boys and two girls--have advanced to the third round.
Thursday's third round matches featuring Americans:
Ryan Cozad[14] v Yannick Alexandrescou[1](ROU)
Keaton Hance[7] v William Rejchtman Vinciguerra[10](SWE)
Noah Johnston[9] v Jamie Mackenzie[6](GER)
Ronit Karki[5] v Oliver Sanders(CZE)
Janae Preston v Iva Marinkovic(SWE)
Yael Saffar v Sofie Hettlerova[12](CZE)
