2022 NCAA singles champion Ben Shelton has advanced to the first ATP Challenger final of his career, after coming through qualifying at the ATP Challenger 80 in Rome Georgia. The 19-year-old, a rising junior at the University of Florida, defeated unseeded Yasutaka Uchiyama of Japan 6-1, 6-3 in today's semifinals for his sixth victory of the week. Shelton, now up to a career-high of 323 in the ATP live rankings, will face unseeded Yu Wibing of China, the 2017 US Open boys champion, who defeated No. 4 seed Juan Pablo Ficovich of Argentina 6-1, 6-0 in the other semifinal today.

No. 4 seeds Andrew Harris(Oklahoma) of Australia and Enzo Couacaud of France won the doubles title today, defeating No. 2 seeds Reese Stalder(TCU) and Ruben Gonzalez(Illinois) of the Philippines 6-4, 6-2.

Live streaming of Sunday's singles final between Yu and Shelton is available at the ATP Challenger website, with Mike Cation providing commentary.

No. 4 seed Maxime Cressy(UCLA) has reached his third ATP final of the year at the ATP 250 Hall of Fame Open in Newport Rhode Island, defeating No. 2 seed John Isner(Georgia) 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Cressy, who lost in his first two finals this year to Rafael Nada and Taylor Fritz, will play No. 3 seed Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan for the title.

Former North Carolina star Will Blumberg will defend his 2021 title last year in Newport tomorrow, with Steve Johnson(USC) this year, after winning in 2021 with Jack Sock. Blumberg and Johnson, the No. 4 seeds, will play top seeds Raven Klassen of South Africa and Marcelo Melo of Brazil in Sunday's final.

The singles finals are set and the doubles champions determined at the three USTA Pro Circuit $15,000 tournaments in California and Pennsylvania this week.

At the men's event in Pittburgh, top seed Kyle Seelig(Ohio State) will face No. 7 seed AJ Catanzariti(Texas A&M) for the title. The 26-year-old Catanzariti, who beat No. 2 seed Cannon Kingsley(Ohio State) in yesterday's quarterfinals, defeated qualifier Mac Kiger(North Carolina) 6-3, 6-3 today and will be playing for his first ITF Men's World Tennis Tour singles title Sunday.  Seelig defeated unseeded Tyler Zink(Oklahoma State) 6-2, 6-4 today and will aim for his second men's Pro Circuit singles title Sunday.

In today's doubles final, Zink and Canada's Cleeve Harper(Texas), the No. 2 seeds, defeated unseeded Nico Mostardi(Cleveland State) and Luke Phillips(Cleveland State) 6-7(3), 7-6(5), 10-6 for their first title as a pair. Zink, who won the 2019 US Open boys doubles title (with Harper's teammate Eliot Spizzirri), now has five ITF men's doubles titles, while this is the second for Harper, the 2022 NCAA doubles champion.

USC's Snow Han, the No. 5 seed, has advanced to the final of the women's $15K in Lakewood California, with the redshirt sophomore defeating incoming USC freshman Madison Sieg 6-2,  6-3. Han will face top seed Dabin Kim of Korea, who beat qualifier Martina Okalova(Tulsa).

Makenna Jones(North Carolina) and Brienne Minor(Michigan) won the doubles title, the second pro title for Jones and the first for Minor. The two NCAA champions--Jones 2021 doubles and Minor 2017 singles--defeated Taylor Cataldi(Wisconsin) and Princeton recruit Isabella Chhiv 6-4, 6-0 in the final.

The run of California teenagers came to an end in the men's $15K in Lakewood, with 18-year-old Ethan Quinn(Georgia), the No. 5 seed, falling to No. 3 seed Jaimee Floyd Angele of France 6-0, 4-6, 6-4. Angele will face No. 4 seed Nathan Pontwith(Arizona State), who for the second straight day won a three-hour match to advance. Ponwith ended the run of 18-year-old qualifier Hudson Rivera 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. If, like me, you don't know much about Rivera, here's a feature on him by Steve Pratt for the USTA Socal website.

Ponwith had little time to rest this afternoon, as he and Eduardo Nava(Wake Forest), the No. 2 seeds, won the doubles title this afternoon, beating the unseeded team of Michigan rising freshman Bjorn Swenson and rising high school senior Bryce Nakashima 6-3, 2-6, 10-4. It's the second pro doubles title for Nava and the fourth for Ponwith, but their first together.
