Back on the Road with Bobby Curtis

We arrived in Tampa yesterday and had dinner with our friend Bobby Curtis, who is the junior tennis guru of Florida. Working for the USTA's Florida section, Bobby is busy running between sites this weekend as he oversees these major sectional tournaments for all junior age divisions.

Andy Roddick's foundation recently donated funds to have the Florida section's Tennis On The Move SUV and trailer outfitted with Bobby's photo and renamed in his honor. Andy, who played in the Florida section for most of his junior career, was eager to recognize Bobby's contribution to junior tennis in Florida, and the unveiling took place at his annual fundraiser in December.

The SUV and trailer are used to take games and tennis information to young Floridians, but there was no event this weekend, so Bobby is driving the SUV (sans trailer) from Lakeland to Clearwater to Tampa to keep up with the newest crop of tennis players to develop under his guidance.
