Nick and me go to the same academy in Ojai, California at the Weil Tennis Academy. I see nick practicing everyday and that guy pushes him self like no other. he by far has made the biggest improvement in his game, in the shortest amount of time I have ever seen in my life. He by far is the best player at Weil. His results now are not a fluke. Nick will go far in his tennis and i am sure we will be seeing more of him in the next 5 to ten years.friendnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-21430382375659680442010-03-17T20:51:58.089-04:002010-03-17T20:51:58.089-04:00To Papac Watch. Looks like he gave number 1 seed Gonzo Austin all he could handle today, losing 4 in the third. Its also nice to see late bloomers having such a big impact as well. Keep up the good work Nick.tonynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-34813071524497721452010-03-17T18:10:10.398-04:002010-03-17T18:10:10.398-04:00Hey Advertising. And, I think you missed the primary point of my post which is that this is a guy that wasn't doing anything near this a year or two ago.

If this was Jack Sock winning those matches then it wouldn't be a "tear" but it was Papac.

To Tony: When you say that he just started training full time in the Fall do you mean that he was playing other sports or had other activities until then?Papac Watchnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-57186073190888966512010-03-17T09:28:58.160-04:002010-03-17T09:28:58.160-04:00Personally, I'm not a fan of the Weil academy,...Personally, I'm not a fan of the Weil academy, but we'll leave that discussion for another day. I was just stating a fact. At Winter Supernationals earlier this year, he beat Russ Bader, who I believe is a top 30-50 player. So in many ways, I agree with Papac Watch, Nick did come out of no where.Tonynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-55037180863453053412010-03-17T00:53:06.359-04:002010-03-17T00:53:06.359-04:00On a tear? I was recruiting him and got to know him very well. A very nice kid who works very hard. Unfortunately for me, hes going to Fresno State where I'm sure his game will only to continue to flourish. I'm glad to see that he's having such a break thru year.Tonynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-6023056747101940822010-03-16T22:26:21.364-04:002010-03-16T22:26:21.364-04:00Does anyone have any explanation for how this guy ...Does anyone have any explanation for how this guy Papac has come out of nowhere and improved 300% in the past year? Did he recently grow and mature? Did he start tennis late?

The guy is on a tear and is playing like one of elite players in the nation and I think he was ranked in the 500's or something a year ago. It's very unusual for a player to jump this high in such a short period of time, particulary so late in his career. He's a senior in high school and in his last year of 18's for goodness sakes!Papac Watchnoreply@blogger.com
