They wait until private coaches develop top players and then bring these players to their camps and change everything in the kid's games, destroying all the good work private coaches do.

Check out the new program on the U.S. west coast regarding objective testing. The innovators of this program should be running the USTA. The British could also advance their current plan more rapidly if they adopted the programAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-22398761378759635692007-07-29T11:55:00.000-04:002007-07-29T11:55:00.000-04:00Tennis should do what soccer does and have camps w...Tennis should do what soccer does and have camps where they select a certain number at the district level and they go to the regional camp and those are selected to go to the national training camp, and from there they eventually select their national team for a particular age group.

Wow! Todd Martin and Jim Courier playing the exhibition at the Zoo, that's just sick. I hope every single one of you who are there will go watch those guys play. That's a sweet matchup.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-51124197980599892232007-07-28T18:37:00.000-04:002007-07-28T18:37:00.000-04:00The USTA talent search stops at #5. Just take a look at their selection criteria to be admitted to their National Training Centers.

Male Players Turning 16 and Older

ATP: Top 50 ranked American Men

ITF: American players ranked in top 100

USTA: Top 5 ranked players in singles in Boys 16's or 18's.

Or by invitation from our National Coaching Staff.

USTA could invite the Top 50 ranked players in their division to participate in either a 3 days or 1 week pre-National Championships camps 4 times a year since our talent pool is way deeper than 5.

This jesture won't cost USTA a dime except to provide all their coaching resources 4 times a year at different championship sites. It would be a great on site training program for their High Performance coaches to be part of this talnet identification search.

I am sure parents wouldn't mind to play for the extra few days of room and board if their children could enjoy a good practice program designed by USTA for free. Each section would send one player to be part of these pre Championships Training Camps as their quoto allotment just make these camps more diverisfied. Expenses could be picked by each section for the player representing them.

However, does USTA has the personnels and willingness to design a program to help themselves? I am afraid not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
