Kims mim is always traveling with her and J ason and Ray get no credit?? I know both of them personally and watch their practice at USF Sarasota!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-1146069700476872622006-04-26T12:41:00.000-04:002006-04-26T12:41:00.000-04:00I am a coach in Boston, and after having read the ...I am a coach in Boston, and after having read the previous comments, I couldnt agree more in regards to the USTA. I cannot speak for Kim Couts, but with all of the USTA touted players I have worked with in thepast 14 years, its always been the same.

Its failry amazing how for a country the size of the US, with as many good juniors as we have, and as much resource as we have, that we dont produce more world class players.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10016685.post-1145500469427186862006-04-19T22:34:00.000-04:002006-04-19T22:34:00.000-04:00I just saw Kim Couts play at the Easter Bowl and c...I just saw Kim Couts play at the Easter Bowl and can't remember being more impressed with a player. All of her strokes are flawless. Forehand, backhand and serve are model strokes with explosive power. I think she had better strokes than even any of the boys in the tournament.

Her footwork is outstanding and her intensity is unsurpassed. I've become a huge fan and hope that the USTA starts to pay a lot more attention to her than they seem to be. There is no other player, boy or girl, who is more deserving of a chance to make it as a pro. Her potential should have been obvious to the USTA; even a casual observer with any brain would see this as her potential just leaps out at the spectator.

Her game is also another reminder that one doesn't have to be rich or come from one of the academies to have a great game and attitude. In fact, I haven't seen an academy produce someone like this who didn't already exist in this form when they arrived.

And Collette, I want to commend you on your gutsy comment on Peter Bodo's Tennis World blog about the USTA's attempted "spin" on not handling Couts and the Austrialian Open Junior US Junior Team better. Too many journalists and parents are afraid to question the incompetence and arrogance of the USTA High Performance staff. Their apparent indifference to James "Bo" Seal is just another of many examples.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
